Project Geologist

 An international leading producer of mineral fillers and extenders offers a fantastic career opportunity for a Project Geologist for its mining and prospection/exploration activities in Kenya. The ideal candidate Must have experience in a similar role in the mining industry have a strong commitment and dedication to the quality of work.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Adhering to high OH&S and environmental company standards.
• Prepare and update mine-site geology & quality distribution maps.
• Participate in on-site raw material quality control procedures.
• Liaise and cooperate with local mining staff.
• Plan, and conduct prospection/exploration activities including geological reconnaissance studies, surface mapping and sampling.
• Preparation of technical reports using company reporting templates.
• Define and supervise core drilling projects, core logging, core sampling and interpretation of data.
• Preparation of geological documents for the Mining authority.

Qualifications:

•  Master’s degree in Geology or Earth Science.
• Must have over 5 years’ experience in exploration and/or mine geology would be highly regarded.
• Must have the ability to produce professional geological maps and sections.
• Must have excellent fieldwork and surface mapping skills.
• ACAD, GIS experience is essential.
• Surpac experience would also be highly regarded.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to communicate complex scenarios to international specialists and superiors.
