Senior Accountant

Leading pharmaceutical wholesaler in Rwanda is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant who will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee Finance by ensuring achievement of its strategic plans and objectives in an efficient manner. The Successful candidate MUST have experience working in a Manufacturing Company having managed inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall financial management and control, which will involve overseeing the accounting system, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
Financial oversight for all departments and ensuring optimal use of company resources.
Responsible for the preparation and approval of latest estimate (LE) and following the annual budgets.
Present detailed business plan on how the budget will be achieved. Analyze variances and ensure adequate control.
Review accounting system and make recommendations based on standards and industry practice.
Manage corporate finance and maintain corporation tax compliance.
Co-ordinates the external financial and statutory audit exercises whilst ensuring compliance.
Monitors procedures to ensure internal control system operate effectively.
Provide advice on internal control implications of proposed changes in company’s procedures adherence to international accounting principles.

Qualifications:

A degree in a relevant discipline.
Must have a CPA K / ACCA with at least 8 years at senior financial position.
Must have experience in Manufacturing Sector.
Must have experience managing Inventory.
Must have an appreciation of commercial negotiations.
Experience in initiating strategic plans and overseeing change.
Experience in or a good understanding of the private equity and venture capital industry.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Must have an impeccable integrity and diligence.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure.
