Financial Controller – Tanzania

Our Client leading producers of Tea in Tanzania are currently seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to be based in the Tea Estate in Southern Tanzania. The successful candidate Must have exposure in different Geographical locations, have an appreciation of commercial negotiations and have experience in the Agri-Business sector. The Ideal candidate Must be Gujarati, Hindi or Punjabi speaking.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Oversee the company’s financial performance and steer the company to achieve high profitability.
• Ensure the business performance is focussed towards growth, profits and increasing shareholder return.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
• Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems.
• Oversee, review, and ensure adherence to the budgets for each company and business department.
• Ensure that all company’s financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation.
• Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
• Develop, update and implement financial policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and external audit firms.
• Prepare and maintain a policy manual for the finance departments.
• Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, tagged, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
• Capital expenditure – evaluation and preparation of submissions.
• Manage and advice on the insurance and risk management needs.
• Negotiate with banks for lines of credit or other financial services as required and appropriate.
• Setting annual cost rates and prices for customers.
• Close involvement in commercial negotiations with customers and stakeholders.
• Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
• Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date.
• Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions, as appropriate.
• Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers, stakeholders and advisors.
• Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making.

Qualifications:

•  Relevant Bachelor Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
• Must be a ACCA Finalist.
• Must have 7-10 years of experience as Senior Manager level in finance with a credible organization that has an international footprint.
• Must have an appreciation of commercial negotiations and have experience in the Agri – Business sector.
• Excellent technical skills and highly numerate.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
