Group GM Finance

A group of Companies with Companies diversified in a wide range of business activities ranging from Agri, Real Estate, Energy and Trading in Nairobi and it’s environs are seeking to recruit a Group GM Finance. The successful candidate will report to the Board and oversee the Companies financial performance and steer all businesses to achieve high profitability. The ideal candidate Must have experience working in organizations that have international footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the business performance is focussed towards growth, profits and increasing shareholder return.
Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems.
Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash management policies.
Capital expenditure – evaluation and preparation of submissions.
Oversee, advise and evaluate the procurement activities and policies.
Advice and oversee implementation on insurance and risk management policies and guidelines.
Prepare commercial pricing/tender templates and information to be used in commercial proposal submissions.
Oversee and manage the preparation of reports on a monthly and annual basis for each company.
Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget.
Ensure that all of each group company’s financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation.
Develop, update and implement financial policies and procedures.
Maintain a policy manual for the finance departments.
Setting annual cost rates and prices for customers.
Work with senior teams to grow the businesses formulating strategies and plans.
Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions, as appropriate.
Negotiate with banks for lines of credit or other financial services as required and appropriate.

Qualifications:

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
Master’s Degree is an add advantage.
Qualified member of an accountancy body i.e ACCA finalist.
At least 10 years of experience at senior manager level in finance with a credible organization that has an international footprint.
Excellent technical skills and highly numerate.
High levels of integrity and honesty with commitment to good governance.
Must have the ability to understand and interpret complex financial data.
Thorough understanding of business principles and practices, and commercial acumen.
Must have superior attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Problem-solving skills, research, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Highly conversant with financial software applications and strong IT skills.
Ability to multi-tasking and handle several assignments at same time.
Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making.
