Our client based in Langata is in search of an experienced and compassionate Private home Caregiver who understands the importance of meeting the needs of the elderly while helping them maintain a high quality of life. The desired candidate must be a committed individual who has impeccable communication skills and is able to problem solve on the spot. The caregiver must be cheerful and receptive as they administer care. The successful candidate will be tasked with providing physical care and emotional support to an elderly person who will require assistance with daily tasks. The candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience as a Caregiver to the elderly. Nursing background is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with personal care activities including dressing, mobility, administering medication.
- Providing companionship and support during daily activities.
- Implementing strategies for managing dementia and other health issues.
- Delivering activities that promote emotional and intellectual stimulation.
- Maintaining a safe living environment by minimising or removing safety risks or hazards.
- Transporting clients to appointments, outings and social engagements.
- Liaising with other health care professionals, family members and carers.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a Caregiver
- Must be someone robust.
- Must have extensive experience working with the elderly.
- Must have impeccable communication skills.
- Must be good at puzzles.
- Must be kind, confident and patient.
- Must have experience and knowledge working with patients with dementia/Alzheimer’s.
- Must have ability to problem solve quickly.
- Nursing background is an added advantage.
