Plant Manager – Nigeria

A leading Global agri-business operating from seed to shelf, in 70 countries, supplying food and industrial raw materials to over 23,000 customers worldwide, is looking for a highly driven and experienced Plant Manager for its offices in Lagos, Nigeria. The Successful candidate Must have 15 years’ experience in a multinational company in food industry with at least 4 years spent in similar position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute plant-specific strategic vision, mission and objectives to assure continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage facility budget including capital expenditures and cost management.
• Ensure Assure regulatory compliance including but not limited to NAFDAC, SON etc.
• Provide leadership for assessing and enhancing plant capabilities.
• Drive collaboration with R&D and Marketing in new product development.
• Lead implementation of WCM initiatives at the plant and review direct report’s work and recommend revisions.
• Champion and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
• Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data analysis.
• Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives.
• Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.

Qualifications:

• Must have 15 years’ experience in multinational company in food industry with at least 4 years spent in similar position. Experience in biscuit production will be an advantage.
• Should have relevant manufacturing/engineering degree from a reputable institution. Advanced degrees will be an advantage.
• Must have hands-on project management experience.
• Must have good knowledge of continuous improvement models e.g. TPM, WCM, IL6S.
• Must have knowledge of budgeting, monitoring and control.
• Should understand manufacturing and procurement/supply chain.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment with all levels of employees.
