A fast-growing company bursting with innovation, creativity and passion which is transforming Kenya’s furniture industry by putting quality living within everyone’s reach is looking for a self-driven, organized and analytical Head of Supply Chain to grow their global sourcing and logistics network. The Successful candidate Must have over 6 years’ experience with at least 3 years managing a team across different functional areas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage employee training and required documentation to ensure effective training methods
• Master a sourcing operation that spans dozens of suppliers in 14 countries.
• Continuously scour the globe for higher quality and more affordable materials, enabling us to build the products of our customers’ dreams.
• Coordinate our sourcing teams in Kenya and Mauritius in ensuring an efficient flow of goods to where they are needed.
• Select the best vendors from across the world and guarantee quality of the goods they supply.
• Invest in coaching and development of your team, taking advantage of opportunities to grow team members’ responsibilities.
• Maintain a high-performance culture, setting ambitious targets and rewarding outstanding accomplishment.
• Find opportunities to develop and improve systems, delegate responsibilities to enable your team to handle more work with increasing complexity.
• Identify and utilize key control points, allowing you to maintain quality and accuracy of the growing activities within your area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
• Must have a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in Supply Chain.
• Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Supply chain, logistics or related field.
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience managing individuals across different functional areas.
• An entrepreneurial streak and have drawn energy from working in a young company, start-up environment or other environment of rapid growth and change.
• Adaptable to changing requirements and you enjoy working on multiple diverse projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Confident in your own ability to perform and inspire others to perform, and you are eager to take on responsibility
• You possess a strong analytical toolkit, and you frequently apply quantitative analysis to decision-making.
• Experience managing key internal and external relationships in another organization.
• Able to take initiative, very self-managing and when given high-level goals and take initiative to achieve them.
