Our client, a luxury Safari Company, is looking for a Chief Accountant/Procurement for their office in Nairobi. He/She will under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, organize, coordinate and supervise the accounting operations of the company and maintain related financial records; provide internal control of fiscal plans and budgets; develop and prepare studies in the area budget.

Responsibilities:
• Preparation of Budgets and Cash flow
• Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations
• Preparation of Full set of accounts on periodic basis
• Responsible for monthly financial statements, creditors & Debtors
• Maintenance of Revenue Invoice, debt collection and Tax computation
• Preparation and submission of VAT return on a monthly basis
• Receiving all orders from the Lodge and source for competitive suppliers
• Ensure all supplies are properly packed, loaded and transported to Lodge
• Preparation of payment vouchers and journal entries
• Maintenance of Cash books and reconciliations
• Perform camp operation costing and cost tracking and monthly payroll
• Presentation of annual budgets and monthly management accounts to the Board of Directors Preparation of all statutory deductions and timely online submission and payment
• Maintenance of Head office HR paperwork
• Preparation of audit and assisting the auditors with the various requirements
• Overseeing the procurement function as well as transport and Logistics for the hospitality division

Qualifications/skills:
• Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (desirable)
• CPA (K)
• Minimum of 5 years working experience at a similar position
• Expertise in the functioning of an international financial institution or financial services institution
• Risk & Data Analysis and Management
• Expertise in internal audit, risk & control, compliance functions
• Ability to plan, manage and follow through on assignments and communicate at all levels of the organization on a timely and professional manner
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with minimal supervision
• Excellent communications and presentation skills
• Strong IT skills – Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel
