Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko failed to name his deputy governor nominee as he had promised, citing ongoing consultations with the opposition coalition Nasa.
The consultation with Nasa, Sonko explained, is in the spirit of the handshake deal between Nasa leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Governor Sonko read out to journalists a letter written by Nasa chief executive Norman Magaya that fronted Wiper party’s Rahab Wangui Ndambuki as a nominee for the deputy governor position.
Sonko also announced new nominees to his cabinet as well a mini reshuffle.
