Our Client, an Agro-Processing Company that produces and supplies high yield dairy, poultry & pig feeds is looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager covering the following regions; Thika, Kiambu, Ruiru. Reporting to the National Sales Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for appointing, managing & developing distributors within the specified region. He or she Must have 5 years’ experience managing distributors. Candidates with prior experience in animal feeds background will have a distinct advantage
Key Responsibilities
- To recruit distributors following the agreed criteria.
- To develop distributors- capability to distribute products.
- To manage distributor performance & incentives.
- Advice and influence distributor investment to achieve desired objectives.
- Manage key priority second level accounts (stockists) under each distributor.
- Initiate and maintain a relationship-based sales culture.
- Build strong business relationships with distributors and stockists.
- Achieve the set monthly targets.
- Deliver periodic reports on regional sales.
- Conduct market research and analysis.
- Develop prospect lists and make business follow-ups.
- Visit retail locations to provide training, promotional and marketing materials.
Qualifications
- Relevant educational background in sales and marketing.
- Must have 5 years’ experience managing distributors.
- Must have full cycle experience with distribution.
- Knowledge in product promotion and merchandizing will be required.
- Candidates with prior experience in animal feed background will have a distinct advantage.
- Must have impeccable communication skills.
- MUST be an aggressive sales person.
- MUST have a proven record of meeting targets.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Self-driven, focused and goal oriented.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
