A diversified horticultural company based in Nairobi with farms in the outskirts of Nairobi is seeking to recruit a Local Sales Officer. He/she will be tasked to develop new local markets & customer-facing opportunities as well as to control the local sales and team.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement local marketing and advertising campaigns
• Manage and work with Merchandiser to ensure produce is correctly displayed in-store
• Prepare/analyse sales reports/trends to assist management in decision making
• Generate weekly packaging requirements from orders received & ensure any change/promos are communicated
• Oversee the follow up on client’s portfolio payment
• Ensure all prices are updated as per the season and clients
• Develop strategies for more effective sales, both individually and as part of a team
• Review Ops spec with Technical team to ensure quality consistency
• New client visitation road-plans
• Determine customers’ needs and collect customer feedback in relation to product orders
• Promote new product, commercial trials and develop sales volume
Qualifications
• Diploma in marketing/sales
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar post
• Knowledge of fresh produce is desired
• Experience in carrying our market research and developing analysis, papers, surveys and reports
• Strong communication, presentation and sales skills
• Able to demonstrate success and experience of managing accounts
• A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance
• Must be skilled in using MS office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet and email
• Able to get on with others and be a team-player
