Production Manager – Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Our client a worldwide smart card solutions provider is looking for Production Manager to be based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The successful candidate will plan, direct and coordinate the manufacturing processes of assigned areas which include Production, and Quality Control through the utilization of data and in accordance with company objectives, driving Safety, Quality, Delivery and optimizing cost. The ideal candidate must have expertise in products, materials and production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directing the production team in the preparation and implementation of operating plans and strategies consistent with the agreed business plan.
• Planning the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future production requirements including department budgets and guidelines, plant layout and improvement, and capital and expenditure programs.
• Managing the production departments with the appropriate communications of goals, performance feedback.
• Maintaining and improves product income levels through waste reduction, cost reduction, and cost improvement plans.
• Identifying and record any problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
• Overseeing the production process while ensuring teams are focused on producing product of the highest quality in a safe and effective manner.
• Providing implements and administers quality assurance and engineering control functions to ensure product reliability.
• Recommending introduction, elimination or improvement of processes to increase the effectiveness of business unit operations.

Qualifications:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Must have at least 7-10 years of broad manufacturing experience in a mid-level leadership role.
• in a mid-level leadership role.
• Good expertise in products, materials and production process.
• Good knowledge of machine operation and the ability to act fast in case of machine breakdown.
• Must be willing to relocate to Dar es Salaam.
• Must be East African.
