Head of Technical Department.

Our client, a security firm with its head office based in Nairobi, is looking to recruit a competent Head of Technical Department. The successful candidate will be based in Nairobi with expected travel nationally. The desired candidate must have experience managing / supervising other staff and at least 4 years of technical installation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct site visits with a potential client to assess their exposure to risk.
Suggest suitable technical security solutions.
Prepare quotations and risk assessment reports to send to clients.
Sourcing and conducting price comparisons with hardware suppliers.
Organizing the technical team’s roster and calendar.
Communicating with Clients in an open and articulate manner to ensure they understand how to use their security systems.
Preparing bespoke instructions for Alarm clients.
Using Microsoft Excel to prepare reports following alarm tests and financial incoming and outgoing reports for the department.
Advise the Managing Director on technological advancements that may lead to better products and services.
Staying up to date with technical security solutions and hardware and the leading supplier of such.

Qualifications:

Must have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
At least 4 years’ experience as a technical installer.
At least 1-year leadership experience.
Experience in Security is beneficial.
Knowledge of the function and installation of security Alarm systems.
Knowledge and experience of vehicle tracking systems and their operation.
Knowledge and experience in networking and system integration.
Basic IT course qualification essential.
Advanced IT course qualifications are advantageous.
Vocation technical qualifications, including basic electrical (telecommunications) qualification.
Excellent organizational skills.
Candidate must be friendly, dynamic, a good communicator and have strong leadership skills.
