Our client that deals with auto care and manufacturing is looking to fill the position Production/Quality Manager. The successful candidate MUST have at least 3 years of managerial work experience in production and quality control with good hands-on knowledge of metal fabrication, vehicle parts fitment, vehicle conversion, welding, CKD assembly, spray painting/powder coating and blasting, ROPs and other fabricated accessories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Director for the generation of bill of materials (BOM) for new jobs.
  • Oversee the generation of job orders and scheduling of jobs in production sections.
  • Set daily tasks targets for each section and ensure the achievement of the same.
  • Coordinate with stores section stock requirements for job execution.
  • In liaison with the HR department and Production Director, raise staff disciplinary matters.
  • Review staff performance daily and participate in scheduled performance appraisal for subordinates.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements in the workshop are adhered to.
  • Ensure equipment are well maintained & undertake quarterly tools audits.
  • Implement company policies, procedures, processes and practises.
  • Review the quality management policy every year.
  • Develop Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each stage of production and ensure staff follows them.
  • Sample items during production using quality check sheets for each production section.
  • Promptly raise quality issues with the Management to be addressed.
  • Involved in the investigation of production re-works, product rejections, customer complaints.
  • Develop corrective action plans with the Director and oversee its implementation.
  • Sign off all goods produced by the company as “quality assured” before they are stored/dispatched.
  • Design product blueprints using AutoCAD software’s and operate the CNC machine and oversee its full roll-out phase.
  • Maintain soft and hard copies gallery of prototypes done.
  • Highlight to employee’s quality control points for each production section.
  • Enforce any other quality control system that may be introduced by the management.
  • Undertake other duties as may be assigned by the Management.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Diploma in mechanical engineering or manufacturing.
  • Must have over 3 years of managerial work experience in production and quality control.
  • Must have hands-on knowledge of metal fabrication, vehicle parts fitment, vehicle conversion, welding, CKD assembly, spray painting/powder coating and blasting, ROPs and other fabricated accessories.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes such as Kaizen.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and job briefs.
  • Able to operate the plasma machine and make items to specifications.
  • Proficiency in using a production module on an ERP system and AutoCAD software.
  • Good people management skills with the ability to motivate individuals and teams.
  • Good communicator, able to give feedback and enable upward/downward communication.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with timely updates on progress.
