Our client, seeking to accelerate the transition toward sustainable transport and energy solutions in East Africa by the introduction of new technology and reshaping industries through developing, producing and installing electric drive trains for a range of vehicle applications. They seek to provide clients with a powerful, cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to running vehicles on diesel. Based in Nairobi, they are currently looking to recruit a Technical Sales Manager who will be responsible for leading the sales team in an emerging tech-oriented market with the goal to achieve sales, develop profitability budgets and fitting marketing opportunities for the region. The ideal candidates must have prior sales experience preferably in the automotive industry and Must be willing to work in a Start-up.
Key Responsivities:
- Overseeing and leading a team of sales engineers and account managers in Kenya.
- Tracking sales performance, generating sales from larger accounts and develop as well as executing marketing strategies.
- Leading the sales team in an emerging tech-oriented market with the goal to achieve sales, develop profitability budgets and fitting marketing opportunities for the region.
- Manage and lead the Kenyan sales team to achieve & exceed budgeted sales targets, revenues and profits.
- Be part of setting up a CRM system fitting for the goals and the team.
- Ensure timely response & attendance to all vehicle enquiries and quotations while adhering to internal pricing & process guidelines.
- Forge and maintain close working relationships with other internal teams for smooth customer service delivery.
- Ensure active participation in sales promotional campaigns & activations by the sales team in liaison with Sales Chief.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sales/marketing/business or Engineering from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Must have over 7 years’ experience in sales in the Automotive industry, 3 of which should be at managerial level.
- Must be willing to work in a Start-up.
- Hands-on approach, results-driven & pleasant personality.
- Strong desire & passion for customer service.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Great organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills & a team player.
- Ability to create a win-win situation in conflict resolution.
- Ability to work under pressure when necessary.
- High level of Integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications software packages and business presentation.
- A clean driving license with ability to drive both manual & auto transmission vehicles.
