Business Development Manager – Nairobi, Kenya.

Our client, a Non-Profit Organisation with a mission to alleviate poverty in frontier markets through mobilising private sector expertise & finance to develop high-quality Infrastructure Projects is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager. The successful candidate MUST have an excellent background in working with greenfield renewable power, water or transport projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong network of partners, co-developers, financers and others to support the delivery of infrastructure projects.
• Build a good working relationship with the developers on behalf of the Organisation.
• Identify & evaluate a pipeline of approved co-development opportunities.
• Research & write investment papers for the Organisation development committee & ensuring approval.
• Review the commercial structure & negotiating all the necessary terms of the Company’s involvement in your projects.
• Undertaking or securing thorough due diligence (financial, legal, political, technical, environmental & social).
• Accurate forecasting, managing & reporting progress against the project’s plans & budgets.
• Problem – solving & driving delivery of individual projects.
• Mentoring Business Development Analysts & supporting personal development.

Qualification:

• Must have a professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Must have relevant experience working on multiple infrastructure projects at a different stage of development in developing countries.
• Relevant experience developing greenfield renewable power; water or transport project.
• Must be recognised by others as demonstrating integrity & professionalism.
• Demonstrate strong team working & communication skills both internally & externally.
• Have credibly engaged with multiple types of stakeholders within sub-Saharan Africa i.e. PPI; EPC contract; Government and Local communities.
