A leading global producer of Calcium Carbonate & worldwide distributor of Speciality Chemicals is looking to fill the position of a Sales Manager to be in charge of their East Africa cluster. The successful candidate will be based in Nairobi, MUST have experience selling Chemicals and /or Industrial minerals and be willing to travel up to 40/50% within the country and occasionally beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and execute sales strategy for the sales segments for the country to achieve the organization’s short and long-term sales goals
- Provide close collaboration with the local management team and Group Functions to implement and meet country objectives
- Develop and oversee the execution of sales plans for the country
- Drive business for sustainable market growth and trade products.
- New customer acquisition/development /relationship building
- Collect, analyse and report all relevant customer information in Company information tools.
- Ensure presence at conference, fairs and in technical journals where suitable
- Market surveys of different market segments
- Monitor and report on competitor activities.
Qualifications:
- University (Degree or Diploma) in Business, Engineering or Science disciplines.
- Must have over 5 years of experience in a sales role for a similar industrial business/industry.
- Technical and/or sales experience in Industrial minerals and/or Chemicals.
- Ready to travel (about 40/50% within the country and occasionally beyond).
- Active “hands-on” sales approach with a high level of energy
- Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, social competence.
- Ability for planning, development and execution of sales & marketing strategies/business plans.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Highly motivated and results orientated person, perseverant, able to work with limited daily supervision.
- Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.
