Our client, a globally recognised fast-growing integrated agricultural supply chain group is seeking to recruit a National Manager Animal Feed for Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Kenya and East Africa grains & oilseeds trading team in the sales and marketing of animal feeds across the country. He/she Must have at least 1-year experience in sales and marketing of animal feeds and 2 years’ supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing the Groups long term strategy for animal feed in Kenya and the region.
- Day to day management of procurement, storage, logistics and marketing.
- Customer onboarding in the region of responsibility.
- Stay abreast of long-term trends in the local markets, developments in country/region.
- Maintain a solid grasp of the dynamics of the market and competitors.
- Increase traded volumes through working with local distributors, agro-dealers and retail outlets to secure orders.
- Develop a strong animal feed brand and distribution model.
- Full responsibility for reporting and monitoring of stocks, sales and client accounts.
Qualifications:
- University degree in agriculture, economics, business, physics or mathematics preferred.
- At least 1-year experience in the animal feeds field.
- At least 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- Ability to develop skills to manage logistics.
- Very good communication and negotiation skills and the ability to confidently present themselves.
- Must be willing to travel significantly to build customer relationships.
- Integrity, trustworthiness, accuracy and timeliness of reporting is of ultimate importance.
- Good understanding of the animal feed market, willing to explore new things.
- Able to handle pressure and change, appetite for risk, disciplined, willing to make decisions.
- Possess the potential leadership skills and emotional intelligence to later manage their own team.
