Our client, a family-owned but independently run Dairy food processing company in the outskirts of Nairobi is seeking to recruit the expertise of a Production Supervisor to be based in their Nyamira Office. The successful candidate will oversee all reporting staff whilst ensuring operational, health & safety and quality standards are adhered to. The successful candidates Must have at least 10 years’ working experience working as Production Supervisor in a Food Manufacturing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify all issues in the team and provide continuous support to all members according to operating standards.
- Supervise effective working of production personnel and prepare effective production schedules.
- Administer all work according to QRQC principles and recommend strategies to improve processes and reduce goals.
- Maintain records of all data attendance and provide effective training to all staff members.
- Coordinate with equipment and process teams and ensure compliance to all protocols and maintain product quality.
- Manage and prioritize all production processes and implement all production plans.
- Develop and maintain effective relations with all production employees at various levels.
- Ensure compliance to workplace policies according to safety objectives.
- Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques.
- Ensures that production plans are completed by a certain time.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers.
- Compiles and analyzes production records.
- Evaluates the condition of production equipment.
- Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees.
- Assists workers by offering personal growth opportunities.
- Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques.
Qualifications:
- BSC Food Science and Technology or related field.
- Higher National Diploma in Food Science & Technology or related field.
- Diploma in Food Science will be an added advantage.
- Valid food handling certificate.
- Minimum Grade of C+ in Kenya Certificate of Education.
- Minimum of ten (10) years as a Production Supervisor in a milk processing set up or FMCG.
- Must possess milk processing skills.
- Must possess supervisory skills.
- Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice.
- Must demonstrate the ability to execute work assigned with minimum supervision.
- Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams.
- Must demonstrate the ability to multitask.
- Should have the ability to solve problems by applying relevant sector knowledge.
- Must have the ability to communicate for both written and oral communication.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Must be a flexible person, who is willing to learn and able to work flexible hours to achieve goals.
- Must be able to deliver targets and a good planner who pays attention to detail.
- Must have knowledge in the use of basic computer skills.
- Must be willing to relocate to the plant in Nyamira – Nyansiongo(Borabu) Sub-county.
