Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris will lead a host of media personalities including Fena Gitu, musician Sanaipei Tande and media personality Sheila Mwanyiga in gracing the launch of a Designer Fashion Runway and digital marketplace for Kenyan women entrepreneurs. This event, dubbed DadaSoko, a Kenyan social impact project by the GlobalSoko Foundation, will be held at the K1 club in Nairobi come Saturday. The launch in Nairobi comes three weeks after a similar event was successfully held at Waldorf Astoria, in Las Vegas, USA. "I'm looking forward to this event. It is a welcome idea at a time many people are affected by job losses. Such income-generating projects will enable the youth to showcase their capabilities to the local and global audience.," said Passaris. It will feature unique clothing, jewelry, and fashion accessories all designed, manufactured, and marketed by the young women entrepreneurs from this enterprise. "Our global e-commerce ecosystem is specifically designed for young African women entrepreneurs with the sole aim to empower them with digital business transformation tools to effectively compete in the global marketplace," explained Moses Kusasira, DadaSoko President and Co-Founder. The DadaSoko Project has trained hundreds of young independent businesswomen in cities and remote rural areas across Kenya in the past three months. All graduates of the training program are then offered online stores on the DadaSoko Global Virtual Marketplace e-commerce platform for selling their products and services locally in Kenya and around the world.
