Police seek to detain Forest road suspect for 10 days

Police have asked the court to allow them to detain Zachariah Nyaore Obadiah for ten days so as to complete investigations and process his file for possible prosecution. Obadiah, the prime suspect in an attack on a Zimbabwe Diplomat in Nairobi on March 4, has arrived at the Milimani Law Courts for processing. In the incident, a group of men is seen harassing and assaulting a woman who was inside her vehicle. Obadiah was nabbed by authorities on March 14, 2022, as he attempted to cross into Tanzania ten days after the incident. He has been on the run since police fingered him as the main suspect in the incident which caused a public outcry. His arrest brings to 17 the number of people who have been nabbed in relation to the incident. Those in custody are being investigated in relation to a possible robbery with violence charge, alongside other gender-related offences.
