President Museveni's son to host a party to celebrate his new army rank Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni’s son Muhoozi Kainerugaba has promised to throw a party in celebration of his new army position as well as go on vacation once he hands over. Muhoozi thanked his father for the promotion after hours of uncertainty on whether he would be axed from the army or not. “We are going to have a celebration down Kampala Road for this rank. I thank my father for this great honour!” https://twitter.com/mkainerugaba/status/1577287413571162112?s=20&t=U_CULLL4WqHdCJle7lY-bw He then went on to request his 600k followers to suggest a tour destination once he hands over his former position as the commander of the land forces in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). “After I hand over to Lt.General Kayanja, I'm going to take a tour of this world. I'll try to visit places I've never visited. Any suggestions?” he posed. https://twitter.com/mkainerugaba/status/1577371653813723136?s=20&t=U_CULLL4WqHdCJle7lY-bw Prior to his promotion, Muhoozi had caused a diplomatic tiff leading to a meet-up of top government officials from Kenya and Uganda following his tweet of toppling President William Ruto’s government in two weeks. His controversial tweets started by blaming retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, whom he referred to as his ‘big brother’, for not contesting for a third term adding he could have easily won the election. Former president Kenyatta was barred by the Kenyan constitution from contesting for a third term but Muhoozi suggested that he should have changed the constitution in order to remain in power. “Haha! I love my Kenyan relatives. Constitution? Rule of law? You must be joking! For us (Uganda), there is only the Revolution and you will soon learn about it!” https://twitter.com/mkainerugaba/status/1576915478026469376?s=20&t=U_CULLL4WqHdCJle7lY-bw Not done, he posed to Kenyans where they would want him to live after capturing Nairobi. “After our army captures Nairobi, where should I live? Westlands? Riverside?” https://twitter.com/mkainerugaba/status/1576940719105011712?s=20&t=U_CULLL4WqHdCJle7lY-bw He would then claim Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) hurled insults at him saying he had forgiven him then assure Kenyans that he would never beat up the Kenyan army.
