Kenya's First Lady, Rachel Ruto, has said that she is celebrating the contribution of the young girls and women who toil in building the nation. “In a special way, today, as we celebrate this 2022 Mashujaa Day, I would like to acknowledge the contribution of the girls and women of Kenya in nation building,” said Mama Rachel. Juggling between work and family, the Kenyan woman has continued to fight for equality, social justice, women's rights and positions of leadership,” said Mama Rachel. She also said that there is a need for the young generation to be taught and reminded of the history of the country. Our task is to make ourselves the future architects,” said Mama Rachel. Singling out, the First Lady said Mzee Jomo Kenyatta is one of the iconic people who made the country make big strides. “The recognition, appreciation and celebration of great and iconic Kenyans who have raised our national flag up the global mast is the essence of our Mashujaa Day,” said Mama Rachel. We must belabor, as a people, to build on their legacies and continue in the good work they started,” she added.
