Police in Kasarani Sub-County on Sunday, March 19, 2023, launched investigations into an incident where a male musician is reported to have driven around with the body of a dead woman for hours. Investigations by Nairobi News indicate the famous musician namely Mr Paul Mathenge Wanderi alias Dishon Mirugi drove with the body of Ms Elizabeth Wanjiru who is a pastor inside his car of registration number KCA 505J for hours before finally taking the body to the Kenyatta University (KU) morgue. He claims that Ms Wanjiru, his ex-girlfriend committed suicide by hanging herself inside his house in Maziwa area, Kahawa West in Kasarani Sub-County. A police report seen by Nairobi News indicates that Mr Mathenge told the police attached to Kahawa West police station that he left his house for Thika Road but on the way when he tried to reach her she was unresponsive. “He rushed back to the house in Maziwa Sub Location Kamuthi Location and found her hanging from the frame of his wardrobe,” the report read in part. The musician then untied the knot and called neighbors who made a decision to rush her to Jacaranda Maternity where she was pronounced dead on arrival. He carried the body in his Toyota Mark X which is white in color and then went to make a report at Kiamumbi Police Station. It is then that he was asked to go and make a formal report at Kahawa West Police Post instead. “Police from this command and Kasarani who were on standby visited the scene, confirmed the incident and established that the deceased had on Saturday, March 18, 2023, visited the musician and after a light conversation he left her cleaning the house,” the police report further read. The police who visited the scene made a conclusion that when Mr Mathenge found her body dangling from the top of the wardrobe he shouted and neighbors assisted to rush him to hospital. The scene was processed by officers from the vast Kasarani Sub-County and necessary action taken.
