Kiswahili Teacher – Preparatory Section in an International School

A progressive, dynamic, fun and fast-paced International school based in Tatu City is looking to recruit a Kiswahili Teacher to join in September 2018. The school has proven excellence, particularly on the academic and leadership front, with a British Curriculum –  IGCSE system set-up for children between 6 – 13 years. The ideal candidate must be passionate about toddlers & young children, willing to work in a non-traditional environment that enable children to take responsibility for their own learning through deciding and voting for themes that become their curriculum. He/she MUST naturally love kids and be willing and able to support them 100%.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create lesson plans for each class based on your experience and the pupils’ specific needs.
• Keeping up to date with developments in the subject.

• Introduce interactive activities into the classroom and encourage students to vocalize their concerns and questions.
• Communicate with other team members as well as with parents about students’ progress and behaviour.
• Encourage creativity in students by organizing art and craft projects on a daily basis.
• Create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere in the classroom.
• Listen carefully to parents’ requests and concerns and address them as quickly as possible.
• Help the children learn about the chosen topics in a playful and colourful way.

Qualifications:

• MUST be passionate about toddlers & young children and show bubbly personality.
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Arts, Kiswahili from a recognised Institution.
• Must be registered with T.S.C.
• Must have a Kenyan Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Must have 5 years of experience in a multi-cultural Montessori learning set-up.
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must express the ability to teach creatively with high presentation skills.
• Candidates with International experience will have an added advantage.
