History Teacher – Preparatory School

A progressive, dynamic, fun and fast-paced International school based in Tatu City is looking to recruit a History Teacher to join in September 2018. The school has proven excellence, particularly on the academic and leadership front, with a British Curriculum – IGCSE system set-up for children between 6 – 13 years. The ideal candidate must be passionate about toddlers & young children, willing to work in a non-traditional environment that enables children to take responsibility for their own learning through deciding and voting for themes that become their curriculum. He/she MUST naturally love kids and be willing and able to support them 100%. The successful candidate Must have 5 years working experience in as a history teacher.

Responsibilities:

• Create lesson plans for each class based on your experience and the pupils’ specific needs.
• Introduce interactive activities into the classroom and encourage students to vocalize their concern.
• Keeping up to date with developments in the subject.
• Communicate with other team members as well as with parents about students’ progress and behavior.
• Create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere in the classroom.
• Listen carefully to parents’ requests and concerns and address them as quickly as possible.

Qualifications:

•  Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education – History from a recognized Institution.
• Must have experience working with preparatory students.
• Must have a Kenyan Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Must have 5 years of experience in a multi-cultural learning set-up.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a natural teaching passion.
• Must have had experience working in the British Curriculum.
• Must be able to create curriculum.
• Must be willing to work in Tatu City.
