A somber mood engulfed Kijauri in Nyasiongo as comedian Emmanuel Makori aka Ayeiya’s family laid him to rest alongside his grandmother.
The burial ceremony for the two was conducted simultaneously in a service attended by family and friends including comedians from Laugh Industry.
The comedian died in a road accident on April 13 after a recording of the Churchill Show while his grandmother, Ms Maryrose Nyambane died on April 9 following a long battle with throat cancer.

Ayeiya’s wife and colleagues who were in the same car survived the accident and were admitted in hospital.

His grandmother’s body was escorted by women’s guild church group and the two caskets were placed next to each other.
On Wednesday, a memorial service for Ayeiya was held at the Nairobi Pentecostal Church, Karen.
The comedian’s colleagues on Thursday recorded a special tribute edition of the Churchill Show to celebrate his life and times.
Photos of the Friday burial have been shared online showing his colleagues dressed in black t-shirts bearing his sketched image.
