Our client a high-quality solar energy provider is looking to fill the position of a Human Resource Manager who will support the Western Region, Kenya. The successful candidate MUST relate well to a largely rural labour force & guide their performance to international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise senior management on matters concerning the Company’s Human Capital.
- Ensure legal compliance with monitoring and implementing regulatory requirements.
- Maintain historical HR records by designing a filing and retrieval system.
- Assess recruitment needs, screen, interview and do background checks on employees.
- Design contracts for local, expats, permanent, casual and contractual employees.
- Develop and implement a performance evaluation systems and appraisal tools.
- Train employees on company policies, procedures, regulations, safety rules and benefits.
- Establish a training and development schedule management for employees.
- Hear and resolve employee grievances, conduct investigations and counsel employees.
- Maintain a policy for equal employment opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or a Business Related degree.
- Proof of HR professional qualification or relevant experience.
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience in HR.
- Minimum of 4 years in a managerial position in a large company (over 500 employees).
- Must have dealt with Industrial relations, Labour Unions and CBA’s.
- Must be well versed in employment laws and staffing practices.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of the company.
- Have a proven record of ability to lower labour costs whilst minimizing labour turnover.
- Possess an analytical mind and be comfortable with strategic thinking.
