The government will spend sh300 million for the swearing in of president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and his running mate William Ruto on Tuesday.
The amount will include VIP treatment for the 20 heads of state and invited dignitaries expected to grace the occasion.
Among the expected guests will be Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who will fly into the country on Tuesday morning and spend hours at the inauguration before leaving in the evening.
On Friday, the Assumption of Office of the president committee chaired by Secretary to the Cabinet Joseph Kinyua announced it has budgeted to spend sh300 million for the day.
Mr Kinyua also asked the opposition coalition Nasa to shelve its parallel Tuesday rally.
