Our client, a well-established Family Owned Business with a diversified interest in Real Estate both Commercial & Private owned Property is looking to recruit a General Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of real estate operational policies, procedures & standards. He/she must be a qualified & licensed valuer & a member of the institution of Surveyors of Kenya.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the real estate Company’s operational policies, procedures & standards.
- Manage day to day operations in accordance with the Company policies.
- Develop strategic goals which will help make a significant impact on growth of the Company.
- Implement financial & operational initiatives.
- Ensure operational cost are kept at a minimum.
- Identify key business opportunities so as to enhance financial performance.
- Inspect facilities.
- Negotiate contracts with stakeholders (tenants, insurers, suppliers, banks).
- Fine tune operational methods for the department.
- Improve the overall efficiency of the departments.
- Equip the new joiners with the knowledge, practical skills to carry out the day to day work related task.
- Develop training calendar & training methods which will determine information on various strategic actions plans for the departments.
- Supervise & administer the team.
- Prepare operational reports for the board.
- Liaise with the regulatory & governing bodies e.g. county councils.
- Pro-actively strive to have an in-depth understanding & keep abreast of new laws.
- Advise on changes in relevant legislation.
- Maintain compliance to legal, regulatory & governing laws & frameworks.
- Implement necessary checks & balance to mitigate operational risks across all departments.
- Ensure alignment of the department’s policies & objectives in line with the broad corporate policies.
- Manage and implement new IT & Technical systems.
Qualification:
- Must have a bachelor degree in Land Economics, Survey, Real Estate or Environmental Studies.
- Must have a background in Property Management i.e. a minimum of 6 years.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years in people management.
- Candidates who are qualified and licensed valuer will have a distinct advantage.
- Candidates that are member of the institution of Surveyors of Kenya will have an advantage.
- Must be a registered estate agent is mandatory.
- Willing to work Monday to Saturday.
