A leading global producer of Calcium Carbonate, Fertilizer & worldwide distributor of Specialty Chemicals is looking to fill the position of a Sales Manager for their Fertilizer Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for sales and marketing activities of the business across Kenya managing, field sales representatives, working closely with retailers, local governments, international institutions and technology partners. Additionally, the successful candidate will take up more commercial management activities in the next 18 months and expand sales in to East Africa region. The ideal candidate MUST have prior experience in the Sales of Fertilizer and Must have worked in the Agriculture/Horticulture sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow Business in the private sector as currently the business has a strong foot hold in the public sector.
- Maintaining relationships at national and county level with both technocrats and key decision makers and represent the Brand at industry as well as farm level events.
- Attainment of stipulated sales targets.
- Maintenance and growth of key accounts.
- Responsible for sales and marketing activities of the business across Kenya managing, field sales representatives, working closely with retailers, local governments, international institutions and technology partners.
- Take up more commercial management activities in the next 18 months and expand sales in to East Africa region.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree preferably in an agronomy related field and with preferably an MBA.
- Must have over 10 years of experience with 4 years spent in Senior Management.
- Must have Strong Leadership skills – A good team manager that can balance strength and weaknesses of individual sales team members.
- Good grasp of Business /Demand Planning with knowledge of execution of commodity contracts.
- Must have Sound knowledge of international trade of bulk commodities
- Sound knowledge of sales, customer services.
- Must demonstrated ability to carry out Market Analysis and assessment of the impacts of macro-economic factors on the business.
- Project Management Skills – to drive Market Development programs.
- High level of integrity.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills with an ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
