Chief Executive Officer for a new DMC- Arusha Tanzania

Our client, a new DMC in Arusha, is looking for a dedicated and dynamic CEO with a passion for introducing travellers to new and exciting destinations. He/She will exhibit exceptional traits in planning custom itineraries that exceed the expectations of clients. The successful candidate needs to be able to comfortably coordinate the activities of various departments concerned, including front office, operations, workshop and sales & marketing. A self-driven enthusiast who is recognized as an effective leader with a key focus on profitability and ensuring optimal utilization of resources with stern emphasis on quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Overall management of the business; ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the business including operations, finance and administration
• Implementation of systems and policies to maintain high-quality service
• HR management; training and development of personnel in accordance to company policies
• Maintain statistical and financial records
• Strategic planning and forecasting
• Deal with customer enquiries and aim to meet their expectations
•n Implementation of KPIs, and performance management in each department
• Organizing and attending tourism events, conferences, workshops, seminars and exhibitions
• Develop relationships with national, international and regional TO’s and TA’s
• Promote and market the business, also to niche markets
• Sell and develop tour packages
• Implement social media platforms and build campaign and stories for unique selling points

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualifications and/or experience in travel and tourism
• Management experience at a senior level reporting to Directors
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to lead motivate and grow a team of dedicated employees
• An in-depth understanding of the tourism industry in East Africa
• Excellent networking and relationship management skills
• Sales and customer-service orientation
• Fleet Management experience
• Competent IT skills
