A suspected drug peddler is being held in police custody after he was arrested on Tuesday evening with more than 100 sachets of heroin in Mathare slums.
Detectives said the suspect’s identity has been withheld so as not to compromise their investigations.
The police further said the source of the drug which the suspect was arrested with is yet to be established.
INVESTIGATIONS
“He was found hawking the drugs and we suspect that he is working for some group of people. Immediately we question him we are assured that we shall arrest more,” said an officer privy to the ongoing investigations.
Mr Benard Nyakwaka, who is the DCI boss in Nairobi, said that already they were pursuing more suspects in connection with the drugs.
“We shall also find out how the drugs end up in the slums. We shall break that chain soon,” he said.
