Chief Fire Officer – Nairobi, Kenya.

Our client, a security firm with its head office based in Nairobi, is looking to recruit a competent Chief fire officer to head their Fire department. The successful candidate will be based in Nairobi with expected travel nationally. The desired candidate must have leadership experience and at least 4 years’ experience in a fire department or fire safety role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site visits with potential clients in order to assess their exposure to risk.
• Suggest suitable fire solutions for the client’s property.
• Prepare quotations and fire risk assessment reports to send to clients.
• Sourcing and conducting price comparisons with hardware suppliers.
• Organizing the Fire department team’s roster and calendar to ensure the department is organized.
• Communicating with clients in an open and articulate manner to ensure they understand how to use their fire systems.
• Conduct Fire marshal training both in-house and to paying clients.
• Advise MD on technological advancements that may lead to better products and service enhancement to our customers.
• Responding to fire emergencies to provide support for the team.
• Market the firefight department.

Qualifications:

• At least 4 years’ experience in a fire department or fire safety role.
• At least 1-year leadership experience.
• Firefighting training.
• Fire marshal course.
• Experience in Security is beneficial but not essential.
• Basic IT course qualification/experience essential.
• Advanced IT course qualifications are advantageous.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Candidate must be friendly, dynamic, a good communicator and have strong leadership skills.
