Head of Athletics Program / Gym Director (Kuwait).

Our client, a newly established International college in Kuwait offering American style education, degrees and majors is looking to recruit a Head of Athletics Program / Gym Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of the credit-bearing PE/Wellness classes, intercollege, intramural and sports clubs’ programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the general use of the athletic facilities by all students.
• Oversees the supervision of athletic facilities and teaching PE/Wellness classes as needed.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the credit-bearing PE/Wellness classes, Intercollege, Intramural Sports and Club Sports programs and its associated facilities.
• Provide oversight for all athletics programs and operations, scheduling, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Intercollege Conference policies and regulations and campus sports policies and standards of conduct.
• Assist in all facets of management for the athletics program including budget management, marketing, promotion, and public relations.
• Collaborate with other universities in the coordination and execution of an inter-college sports program.
• Plan, implement and promote intercollege, intramural, and recreational athletic offerings.
• Establish and maintain suitable policies and standards for recreational groups and teams.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other campus departments, faculty, staff, students, and community constituents to facilitate community engagement in programs and activities and usage of facilities.
• Coordinate and facilitate the usage of social media to communicate Athletics activities.
• Collaborate with College communications’ professionals on publicity and reporting of athletic events and results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sport Management or related field.
• Must have experience in competitive sports program (intercollege/intramural/club).
• Experience coaching and/or working with coaches and coaching staff.
• Proven experience teaching credit-bearing PE/Wellness courses.
• Experience training, supervising and evaluating personnel including coaches and referees.
• Budget experience required.
• Experience with data reporting and analysis.
• Possession of Red Cross CPR/ AED certification or equivalent or ability to gain certification strongly preferred.
