The Supreme Court of Kenya has received nine petitions regarding the outcome of the August 9 presidential election results. The court has 14 days to hear and make its verdict regarding the presidential results. The court said that it will make its final verdict on September 5, a move that will either uphold President-elect William Ruto’s win or declare the outcome as null and void where Kenyans will have to go back to the poll within 60 days. On August 30, a Pre-Trial conference will be held and the response to the filed case will be heard. The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition party filed its petition on Monday, where it raised 24 prayers that the court has to determine. Mr Odinga demands that IEBC and Chairperson Mr Chebukati avail all the materials ranging from electronic documents, and the devices that were used in the presidential election, which is to be submitted within 48 hours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgm0jhuiKXM Also read: IEBC boss claims goons wielding crude weapons attacked them at city hotel The Azimio also demands that after it has filed its petition, it should be allowed to have full access to all servers hosting the presidential elections. Mr Odinga, who said that they have a strong case, wants the Supreme Court to nullify the announcement of Ruto as President-elect, and instead have him and his running mate Martha Karua declared as the President-Elect. Also, the Azimio team has asked the court to quash the Gazette Notice that declared Ruto as the president-elect. Further, the Azimio claimed that Mr Chebukati is unfit to hold the office following the declaration of Ruto as President-elect yet the seven commissioners did not approve the final results. “A further declaration that Chebukati has ashamed the nation and undermined public confidence by declaring William Ruto the winner,” part of the Azimio petition states. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZiyc7fxm_k Check out more news below: I will not respond to pettiness!
