The Green Park Terminus was constructed at more than Sh250 million cost and will not deliver the initial intended purpose. The Green Park terminus is located where Lunar Park and Mwamba FC training ground will now be a picking and dropping point for PSVs plying long distances. This was announced on Friday by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja during an engagement meeting with the matatu sector in Nairobi. Also read: I have never been dumped! The Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS) is conducting a 5-day trial of the terminus before it is fully commissioned. If PSVs going to Bomet are there (Green Park Terminus), there will be no other vehicles operating Bomet route that will be within the CBD," GOVERNOR Sakaja said. However, he stated that the long-distance vehicles, such as easy Coach and Guardian, which have private points, will not be affected by his order. The governor said that his plans would be implemented without trials, as was the case during the leadership of the defunct Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), which failed to move all the PSVs from the CBD. When asked about the lack of a flyover along the Uhuru Highway that will help the passengers cross the busy highway easily, the governor said there is no need for it since there are points earmarked for crossing. According to the defunct NMS plan, the Green Park Terminus served the public vehicles plying Ngong Road and Lang'ata Road (Kawangware, Kikuyu, Kibera, Lang'ata, Rongai, Kiserian). The terminus hosts a police station, a level 2 hospital, and a restaurant, and the owner has been hoping that the terminus would work to bring in more customers.
