Our client, a dynamic Logistic Company is seeking to recruit a Senior Commercial Manager to be based in their Nairobi office. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the organization’s market position, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. The successful candidate Must have prior experience working in the Logistic Sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect for potential new clients through client visits and convert them into new business
- Prospect for organic growth and retain relationships with existing client through client visits and face to face interaction with our key customer contacts
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline of leads to ensure regular and timely face to face, e-mail and phone call follow-ups
- Develop and execute business development in line with the company’s strategy
- Network and build relationships within target accounts to understand key decision makers
- Lead conceptual development of the solution/service
- Present an image that mirrors that of the client and Company’s always
- Create revenue projections for growth/profitability and manage an annual BD plan
- Liaise with clients on an ad-hoc basis when issues arise on files that the Account Managers require additional support/decision-making on
- Take an active role in ensuring clients meet their financial obligations relating to the contracts with Company
- Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate
- Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s ERP or other sales management systems
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these target
- Support management with accurate up to date market intelligence to support sales strategy inception
- Actively promote, champion and input into the Company quality management system
Qualifications:
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
- Must have over 5years of experience working in the Logistic Sector in East Africa
- Must be a strategic and creative thinker
- Organized, accurate and detail oriented
- Commitment to teamwork
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Enthusiastic, diplomatic and calm under pressure
- Ability to develop creative ideas and transform them into practical reality
- Ability to develop and manage internal and external relationships
- Ability to identify and think through logistical challenges associated with the movement of large cargo
- Ability to identify critical issues in the industry with ease
- Exhibits confidence and extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems
