Group Financial Controller – Across Africa.

Our client, a dynamic Tech start-up with a strong vision of transforming communities across Africa by revolutionizing access to essential goods & services is looking to recruit a Group Financial Controller to be based in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda or Uganda. The successful candidate MUST be a CPA or ACCA finalist. He/she will be responsible for corporate accounting, regulatory & financial reporting, budget forecasting and development of internal control policies. Candidates with a background in working for start-ups will have a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all accounting operations.
Coordinate & direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasting & report variances.
Prepare & publish timely financial statements.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reports.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
Support monthly, quarterly and yearly close process.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions & reporting.
Manage & comply with local & national government reporting requirements & tax filing.
Develop & document business processes & accounting policies to maintain & strengthen internal controls.
Provide in-depth guidance & training in theory & application of International Financial Reporting Standards.

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior finance position.
Must be a CPA-K or full member ACCA.
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles & procedures.
Candidate with experience working for a start-up will have a distinct advantage.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Excellent accounting software background.
Regional experience will be an added advantage.
Hands-on manager with integrity & desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Excellent background in developing internal control policies & financial risk mitigation.
