A new and unique boutique Hotel in Nairobi will be opening its door in March 2019 and is needing an innovative and commercially savvy General Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall leadership, guidance and direction to the hotel management team and train the staff to make this hotel unique in Nairobi. MUST have worked in an International Boutique Style Hotel environment!
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop with the Management Team annual operating plans for the hotel that are aligned to the strategic plans.
- Establish and continuously review SOP’s for all units in the hotel to ensure the hotel meets guests’ needs and expectations.
- Embed set standards into the daily operations of all staff and establish systems to monitor the consistency.
- Work with the sales and marketing team to develop campaigns & offers to create awareness, grow market share and revenue.
- Ensure staff are trained and meet set quality standards, ensure that they are motivated and rewarded accordingly.
- Forecast budget/Revenue and operating /capital expenditure for the hotel and monitor revenue and expenditures agaist approved budget.
- Put in place effective security systems and carry out periodic inspections.
- Ensure all hotel operations are compliant with all licensing laws, health and safety codes, labour laws, and other statutory regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing/Business/Finance/Hotel Management.
- At least 10 years working experience in a Managerial position.
- Very creative – to bring new ideas and concepts.
- Strong organization skills and show great attention to details.
- Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
- Enthusiastic and energetic hands-on individual with outstanding communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and the staff.
- Multi-tasker and Goal oriented.
