Our client, a high-end safari company, is looking for a Finance Manager with business acumen for its office in Nairobi. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and will be part of the local Management Team. He/she will advise the board on appropriate business planning and help in decision-making processes to ensure that businesses are financially successful. This might involve advising on investments, savings, pensions or insurance products. Experience in the Tourism sector is a MUST!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage outsourced functions.
  • Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.
  • Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
  • Use hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company’s borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions.
  • Arrange for equity and debt financing.
  • Invest funds.
  • Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
  • Engage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement.
  • Interpret the company’s financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
  • Participate in target costing activities to create products that meet predetermined price goals.
  • Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Financing or Accounting.
  • CPA K. Finalist.
  • Over 10 years working experience.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability and behavioural flexibility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
