Procurement/Logistics Intern (Gujarati, Punjabi or Hindu Speaking) – Mombasa Road, Nairobi.

One of Kenya’s premier Building & Interior Manufacturing Company with various Retail shops across the country is looking to recruit a Procurement and Logistics Intern to support the Procurement team in the daily operation of supply chain and logistics management. The successful candidate MUST be a Gujarati, Punjabi or Hindu speaking graduate, with a degree in any Business course.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Provide support in the end to end procurement and logistics process in the organization.
• Liaising with the central stores and user departments to ensure timely requisition of goods and service.
• Helping conduct regular and extensive market research.
• Helping Source and evaluate quotations.
• Helping generate LPOs and dispatching to suppliers.
• Expedite orders and ensuring timely delivery.
• Provide exceptional customer service by developing good working. relationships within the team, as well as suppliers and customers.
• Prepare load-build reports with the support of the supervisor.
• Assist and support Lead Logistics Coordinator and procurement Manager whenever and however needed.
• Provide support to other Logistics Teams and interact with other departments to respond to their needs.
• Any other duty as may be assigned by the management.

Qualifications:

• Must have graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement in Supply chain management.
• MUST be a Gujarati, Punjabi or Hindu speaking graduate.
• Must be available to work from Monday to Saturday.
• Must have an easy access to Mombasa Road – Nairobi.
• Must be living in or have easy access to the Nairobi – Mombasa Road region.
• Excellent Communications skills (i.e., interpersonal, verbal, written, telephone).
• Must possess excellent negotiation skills.
• Must express high level of integrity.
• Ability to function in a team-based environment.
• Customer service/interaction skills and experience.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and document/maintain records.
• Excellent computer kills is mandatory.
• Ability to use creativity and good business judgment to make decisions.
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced & changing environment.
